Helmut Marko has demanded that Isack Hadjar keeps his ’emotions under control’ as he prepares for his Formula 1 debut in 2025.
Hadjar was announced as a driver for Visa Cash App RB on Friday morning after Liam Lawson was confirmed as Sergio Pérez’s replacement at the senior team.
The French driver will become Yuki Tsunoda’s fourth teammate in two seasons following on from Nyck de Vries, Daniel Ricciardo and Lawson who have all been beaten by the Japanese driver in some form.
The Red Bull advisor has praised the young driver who has been part of the teams academy throughout his time in the junior categories but warned that he needs to find a way to control his emotions.

Talking about Hadjar, Marko told the Inside Line F1 Podcast: “First of all, I have to say Isack lost more than 80 points through technical issues.
“To still keep motivated and keep your speed was already a big achievement. Isack is fast but he has to keep his emotions under control and has to focus. One example when in Monte Carlo, there was a Safety Car and he was all of a sudden in front of him. He was moaning and complaining. ‘Why?’ and so on.
“Instead, the guy had cold tyres. He should have driven to attack him instead of being all over the place on the radio.
“So, generally, focus on the important things and make less mistakes like he had a spin in the test in Abu Dhabi. I think he had a spin on a Friday outing.
“Be more consistent but the speed and everything is here. The rest comes through routine.”
Hadjar completed the 2025 grid on Friday with all twenty drivers in place for the new season. He becomes the sixth rookie to secure a seat with Kimi Antonelli and Gabriel Bortoleto set to make their debuts and Jack Doohan, Ollie Bearman and Liam Lawson beginning their full-time F1 careers.
